Welbourne Primary School Parking Safety Update:

Do YOU know someone that attends this Primary School? or Do YOU live nearby?

You may have seen my recent blog post and facebook posts regarding the parking issues that are surrounding our local Primary Schools. If you didn’t CLICK HERE.

I’m pleased to say that Welbourne Primary School was provided with the ‘Safer Parking Banners’ mentioned in previous posts, this week.

As well as the Safer Parking Banners, Welbourne Primary School has also been provided with Leaflets to promote safe parking and these will be going out This Week.

Also This Week: Peterborough City Council Officers attended Welbourne Thursday afternoon to assess whether any further parking restrictions would be beneficial. Upon their visit there were a total of 11 cars parked on Goodwin Walk and 4 within the Entrance to Welbourne itself. Of these vehicles they reported that only one was parked on double yellow lines, whilst others were parked in sensible locations that didn’t ’cause an issue’ .Unfortunately on this occasion the officers do not feel that Welbourne has a ‘Parking Problem’ in comparison to parking at other schools. Therefore they have decided not to introduce any further parking restrictions at this location.

However we still have the assessment for a safety crossing to be implemented! Keep an eye out for an update HERE.

I live in welbourne, and I am fed up of inconsiderate drivers that go the the school, yes on that occasion thee was one car in double yellow lines but I can tell you now that is not normally the case, usually there are a few also they just stop and park on the junction to the estate, and the road leading out of the estate, making it difficult for residents to come in and out of their own street.
